"Impossible" event on 10/8/14
This year there is a series of four "blood moons" with a partial solar eclipse in the middle. This sequence will not occur again for thousands of years.
The second "blood moon" of the series will occur at sunrise tomorrow (10/8/14) around 6:25am *for people east of the Mississippi. But this total lunar eclipse on Wednesday will have an unusual twist. You will be able to see the sunrise and total lunar eclipse at the same time!

An 'impossible' event will take place for two to nine minutes Wednesday morning (only for people east of the Mississippi). Selenelion (or horizontal eclipse). Earth's atmosphere will act as a lens. We'll be able to see both the lunar eclipse and a bit of sunrise at the same time on the eastern and western horizons. The moon may be blood red then also.
This is also at perigee, a "super moon" (largest size) because it's at the closest orbit.
Try to find a location where you can see as much of the horizons as possible.
Why should anyone get up early and go out to see this? It's my opinion that if we care about these signs which God has set up and choose to witness them, we'll be selected to witness even more. Also, this is an event that a Watchman would see from the walls while on duty.
I looked for Scripture (NIV) that mentions both 'sun' and 'moon' and added a few about 'horizon'.
Song of Solomon 6:9 Who is this that appears like the dawn, fair as the moon, bright as the sun, majestic as the stars in procession?
Isaiah 13:10 The stars of heaven and their constellations will not show their light. The rising sun will be darkened and the moon will not give its light.
Joel 2:10 Before them the earth shakes, the sky trembles, the sun and moon are darkened, and the stars no longer shine.
Joel 2:31 The sun will be turned to darkness and the moon to blood before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the LORD.
Rev 6:12 I watched as he opened the sixth seal. There was a great earthquake. The sun turned black like sackcloth made of goat hair, the whole moon turned blood red.
Matt 24:29 "Immediately after the distress of those days "'the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light; the stars will fall from the sky, and the heavenly bodies will be shaken.'
Mark 13:24 "But in those days, following that distress, "'the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light;
Acts 2:20 The sun will be turned to darkness and the moon to blood before the coming of the great and glorious day of the Lord.
