Verse of the Day

— 1 John 3:1 — See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know him.

Day 7: Respond with Love Verse of the Day: [The shepherds] hurried off and found Mary and Joseph, and the baby [Jesus], who was lying in the manger. When they had seen him, they spread the word concerning what had been told them about this child, and all who heard it were amazed... But Mary treasured up all these things and pondered them in her heart. The shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things they had heard and seen, which were just as they had been told. —Luke 2:16-20

This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger." Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying, "Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace to men on whom his favor rests." —Luke 2:11-14

An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. But the angel said to them, "Do not be afraid. I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is Christ the Lord." —Luke 2:8-11

Express their value Verse of the day: While [Joseph and Mary] were [in Bethlehem], the time came for the baby to be born, and she gave birth to her firstborn, a son. She wrapped him in cloths and placed him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn. —Luke 2:6-7

Love Dare: Day 3

Verse of the Day: In those days Caesar Augustus issued a decree that a census should be taken of the entire Roman world. So Joseph went up from the town of Nazareth in Galilee to Judea, to Bethlehem the town of David, because he belonged to the house and line of David. He went there to register with Mary, who was pledged to be married to him and was expecting a child. —Luke 2:1 and 4-5

Day 2: Purpose to display patience. Verse of the Day: [Zechariah prophesied concerning John,] "You, my child, will be called a prophet of the Most High; for you will go on before the Lord to prepare the way for him, to give his people the knowledge of salvation through the forgiveness of their sins, because of the tender mercy of our God." —Luke 1:76-78

Verse of the Day

Verse of the Day

An angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream and said, "Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary home as your wife, because what is conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit. She will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins." —Matthew 1:20-21   Parents' Quote: The only thing worth stealing is a kiss from your sleeping child.

Black Friday and Advent Season

Blessings in Christ Jesus! I had a God time witnessing on Black Friday. I walked a couple laps around the Coventry Mall and had some great conversation with shoppers. On Thanksgiving we focus on family and what we are thankful for... then Black Friday, it seemed those shoppers left Thanksgiving at the door and went chasing discount deals. Today, a dozen of us from Coventry Church of the Brethren handed out flyers to the local community to invite them to our Advent series titled "Unbelievable!!" If you're in the Coventry area and don't have a home church you should come check us out! Verse of the Day: Have nothing to do with the fruitless deeds of darkness, but rather expose them. For it is shameful even to mention what the disobedient do in secret. But everything exposed by the light becomes visible, for it is light that makes everything visible. This is why it is said: "Wake up, O sleeper, rise from the dead, and Christ will shine on you." Eph

Verse of the Day

Just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live in him, rooted and built up in him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness. —Colossians 2:6-7

Verse of the Day

Enter [the Lord's] gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name. For the Lord is good and his love endures forever; his faithfulness continues through all generations. —Psalm 100:4-5

Verse of the Day

Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful. —Colossians 3:15

Verse of the Day

I always thank God for you because of his grace given you in Christ Jesus. For in him you have been enriched in every way - in all your speaking and in all your knowledge. —1 Corinthians 1:4-5

This Season

I've been having to work long hours at the Veteran's Hospital so I haven't done street ministry in a little while. This season has been a blessing in many ways. I've been able to share Christ with the veterans and with nurses and staff. Moreover, it's challenging me to live more Christ-like because they are all watching me! Self Assessment: Is that a daily goal for you...to live more Christ-like? Verse of the Day: Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light for my path. —Psalm 119:105

Thought for the Day

Our testimony should never be past-tense. Obviously it includes things that have happened but our relationship with God should always be growing and thriving. What can we do keep it fresh?

Verse of the Day

If serving the Lord seems undesirable to you, then choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve.... As for me and my household, we will serve the Lord. —Joshua 24:15

Acts 13:47

Evangelism training has been going well at Coventry Church of the Brethren..  For this is what the Lord has commanded us: "I have made you a light for the Gentiles, that you may bring salvation to the ends of the earth." -Acts 13:47 **not just called to "have" salvation, but to "bring" salvation. Let's bring Heaven to Earth, Saints!!

Tough Week

It's been a tough week. Yvonne is sick, we ministered to a family as they mourned for their still-born son, and a friend just found out she has cancer. Please lift those prayers up with us.

"Impossible" event on 10/8/14

Image
This year there is a series of four "blood moons" with a partial solar eclipse in the middle. This sequence will not occur again for thousands of years. The second "blood moon" of the series will occur at sunrise tomorrow (10/8/14) around 6:25am *for people east of the Mississippi. But this total lunar eclipse on Wednesday will have an unusual twist. You will be able to see the sunrise and total lunar eclipse at the same time!   An informative article is found on CBS News' website: http://www.cbsnews.com/news/total-lunar-eclipse-on-wednesday/ Don Rifkin adds this: An 'impossible' event will take place for two to nine minutes Wednesday morning (only for people east of the Mississippi). Selenelion (or horizontal eclipse). Earth's atmosphere will act as a lens. We'll be able to see both the lunar eclipse and a bit of sunrise at the same time on the eastern and western horizons. The moon may be blood red then also. This is also at p

Gathering Grounds

Image
Had an awesome time, this past Friday, speaking at a coffee house/ open-mic. The Gathering Grounds coffee house is the second Friday of every month at Providence Church in Royersford, PA. There was great (FREE) food and great entertainment. Kira Shcherbakova, originally from the Ukraine, a Christian balladeer, started the night off with several selections of songs she wrote herself. Check out her website for more info - www.kiraministry.webs.com. This was followed by an open mic time during which Steven Pratt , a member of a group from Maine known as "Fishers of Men" performed three solo numbers. Then I blessed to share testimony from my walk across America. Finally James D. Harvey ended the evening with a few songs. All in all a fantastic evening!!! Prayer Request

A friend of ours attempted to commit suicide the other week. He called me when he awoke and was partially paralyzed. After spending the night with him at the hospital he gradually began to regain proper use of his arms and legs. Today he is fully recovered, praise God!! But please continue to pray for him and his battle with depression. Thank you!

Apostle Media Group

I did a CrossWalk in Pottstown today and was interviewed by ApostleMG. Long-story-short, last week they contacted me with questions about buying our motor home. At the time neither of us knew that the other was in ministry but after meeting it only took a few moments before we attempted to evangelize each other, haha! Anyway, we scheduled a time and met at the Connections Cafe on High to conduct the interview... What awesome timing to meet ApostleMG, because Evie and I have been praying for American Media recently and that there be a revival and purification through media!! It's difficult to explain their ministry but I encourage you to check them out at http://www.apostlemg.com Blessings! Cross Walk Ministry

Returning Home

Image
It was a crazy couple days. David Johnson went in for surgery to have his gull bladder removed. I was blessed to see and pray with him minutes before he went under. After that I went on a CrossWalk with Joseph Knight and upon returning commissioned him and Matthew as CrossBearers and left two crosses with them: When Matt and Joey dropped me off at the airport they prayed traveling mercies and favor over me. Unfortunately, my flight was sold out and there were no more seats open for me...EXCEPT first class, so they upgraded my ticket for free! Thank you Lord for favor :) Upon returning home I spent some long over due time with my wife and daughter. Yes, it's good to be home. I hope to post a final report of my time at Mardi Gras shortly. Thanks for reading, God bless you!

David Johnson's Mardi Gras Blog

Image
Since David wrote such a thorough blog, I decided to just repost it instead of recreating the wheel... Mardi Gras Day on Bourbon Street 2014 It started off with a bang. We put the cross on the street and I began to preach and we were immediately accosted. People came up and began to rail on us without even hearing a word that was spoken. We were the only cross on the street in sight. Folks who were sick of seeing crosses and Christians likely were happy at our absence and angered at our pre sence. They nearly overwhelmed us so I told Tobiah to put a prayer alert out. As soon as he did, everything calmed down. Know your prayers affect us on Bourbon street during Mardi Gras. That is powerful! Now for some highlights. A former pastor from Indiana, Tom Tekker, approached the cross with a beer in his hand. He asked me if I knew Troy Bohn of the Ravens and I told him I did. He said he had ministered with the Ravens 4 years ago at Mardi Gras. He told us he & his wife who

Mardi Gras Weekend

Image
My body is exhausted but my spirit is soaring! My voice is strained but my heart is full.. Well, that's not all true. I guess it sounds nice, but the truth is. Mardi Gras Ministry is TOUGH. Yes, I'm exhausted and my voice is strained, but as I sit and reflect, I realize that my heart and spirit are exhausted and strained too. Man, my heart BREAKS for the souls on Bourbon Street. Last night a young woman told an elderly, handicapped lady on our evangelistic team (named Donna) that, "satan is lord." When Donna replied that "satan is a loser, but Jesus is Lord," the woman began hitting her. The guys in the group separated them but not before Donna's lip was split. Blood from her lip dripped on the tract that she was holding...on the picture of the cross. These two things break my heart the most out here: Women who don't realize how precious and valuable they are in God's eyes. Catholics who think they can sin as much as they want and then

Another Night on Bourbon

Image
I'm glad that all of the Glory goes to God, because then there's no pressure to perform. My heart breaks for these people on Bourbon Street and in my flesh I want to just slap them around until their eyes are opened. But then my spirit-man reminds me of John 6:44 "No one can come to Me unless the Father who sent Me draws them, and I will raise them up at the last day. " Tonight there were two gay guys that were kissing obnoxiously in-front of the crosses. God, I pray that You reveal Truth to them! There was also a man who pulled up a chair and sat in-front of us in the street with a sign that said, "give me money for weed and beer." It began to rain and the street cleared up. I hope it's a sign that God will wash and purify the French Quarter!!

EVANGELIST BOOTCAMP: New Orleans, LA

Image
Thank You Jesus, Thank You Jesus, Thank You Jesus!!! I feel like since my plane touched down in New Orleans I've been at evangelist boot-camp. Seconds after disembarking from my plane, Pastor David Johnson and Brother Stacy Mitchell scooped me up and took me to Bourbon Street. We picked up some crosses that are specially designed for the French Quarter (they're plastic and insulated) and began ministering to hundreds of people in the streets. Walking down Bourbon Street I was hit with numerous beads as people were throwing them at the cross from balconies. There were about ten street preachers in total and we had three crosses. Praise God, seven people repented and gave their heart to the Lord!! Man, the ministry there is heart breaking. So many women try to find worth in the attention their body gets...well God has worth in them that is found in Jesus Christ! People drunk, high, and up to their head in sin would say "Yea, I'm Christian; I love Jesus." If y

Josh and Bekah's Wedding

Image
Wow, I am so excited for Josh and Bekah's marriage. I believe they are going to be a bright light to other couples in Jesus' Name! I've been blessed to journey with them, to council them, and last night to perform their marriage ceremony. Please lift them up in prayer because I know the enemy would love to attack them. Thankful that they are victorious in Christ! Hallelujah!!!

One week till NOLA

Please pray with us as the Lord is leading my nephew, Trevor , and I to minister in New Orleans and CrossWalk with Raven Ministries Annual Mardi Gras Outreach . We're praying for wisdom, discernment, strength and provision for this trip. On the way back we plan to visit the South Carolina School of Leadership for a men's conference! Stay tuned at www.CrossWalkMinistry.org !! Lord, let there be a bountiful harvest in New Orleans. I know the ministry has already been fruitful but we are expecting amazing breakthroughs, that blind eyes are opened and that hearts are ready to receive You. Holy Spirit, arrange divine appointments and give us the words to say, for Your glory! Let chains be broken and The Kingdom of God be advanced, in Jesus' Name, amen!! I've booked a one-way ticket to New Orleans that arrives 9:30pm on February 22nd.

Week In Review

Image
On Saturday, Evie and I conducted pre-marital counseling for a couple getting married this week. Then on Sunday we counseled another couple as well. After Sunday's session, I met with a family in Pottstown and we did some street evangelism. Even though it was snowing, many people were still out walking around the downtown area. We were blessed to pray with several people, including a young woman named Moriah, who gave her life to the Lord!! Monday, Evie and I hosted a couple's night. It was a fun time fellowshipping with people at a similar stage in life as ourselves. Then, Tuesday we took a van load to MorningStar Fellowship for their Celebrate Recovery program. It's been humbling allowing God to shape me through that program and seeing friends and family grow there as well. Wednesday, Evie and I took Yvonne to Skippack to meet up with a woman for lunch. Frank had the honor of witnessing to this woman while we were CrossWalking in Lansdale last month. God's gr
